Yellow Zinc Plated Double Band Heavy Hose Clamps

Key Features of double band heavy hose clamps

Double Band Construction:

This is the core feature for its strength. It consists of two overlapping stainless steel bands.

Primary Advantage: This design allows for a wider radial contraction range, meaning it can securely fasten a broader range of hose diameters. More importantly, it generates a much higher and more uniform clamping force than single-band clamps by distributing the load across two bands.

Yellow Zinc Plating:

This is the distinctive golden-yellow surface finish.

Material: The underlying metal is typically high-carbon steel, which provides excellent tensile strength.

Purpose of Plating: The yellow zinc coating is applied through an electroplating process to protect the carbon steel core from rust and corrosion. It provides a good level of resistance to moisture and environmental exposure. The yellow color often comes from a supplementary chromate conversion coating which adds an extra layer of corrosion protection.

External Hex Bolt Mechanism:

The clamp uses a single, robust external hex head bolt (also known as a hex cap screw).

Function: This design allows for the application of very high torque using a standard socket wrench or a hex key, ensuring the immense clamping force of the double band can be fully utilized.

Reinforced Housing:

The housing is a heavy-duty, often forged or stamped component, made to withstand the high forces without failure. It securely holds the worm gear and the ends of both bands.
